There are some bathrooms you remember in life for different reasons. Some are memorable for their candles, faucets or even disposable hand towels that make me stop and admire the work and attention to detail someone put into these places. Another bathroom showstopper I noticed was this hand soap dispenser at my pilates studio. This was during the time as a mother that every time I reminded my kids to wash their hands, I was met with a tinge of eye rolling and sighing.
Weeks later, the mom in me decided to buy this dispenser we now lovingly refer to as the “Soap Robot.” Suddenly, hand washing became more fun and less of a chore. It looks like something you might have bought from Sharper Image in the early 2000’s and that’s what I love about it. You also get to feel like you have your own little airport bathroom in the best way possible.
This device takes 4 AA batteries and can hold up to 17 ounces of hand soap, which lasts for weeks. There is an adjustable dial to control how much soap is dispensed and can also be used with hand lotion, dish soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. if desired. One of my favorite features is that its infrared sensors can detect motion within 2.75” away yet it is not overly sensitive. For example, when cleaning under or around it, the device isn’t going off like crazy, depositing soap globs all over the counter. Another bonus, this is so easy to refill, just twist to lid on the top, pour in and you’re done.
