A native Texan, Katie was born at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio and eventually settled in Cincinnati, Ohio.

At the age of 14, Katie joined a market research study, during which she had a transformative moment of insight, recognizing her true calling in the culinary industry. Following her graduation from Ohio University, she embarked on a career in sales with The Kroger Company, and over time, her professional journey expanded to encompass roles in package design, marketing, advertising, recruiting, human resources and merchandising.

Upon deciding to embrace motherhood, Katie stepped away from her corporate career and pursued her passion by enrolling in the Midwest Culinary Institute in 2014. As a hobby, she and her husband established 4B Farms where she embraced the roles of tree farmer and beekeeper. Fondly referring to this venture as "bees & trees," she continues to call Cincinnati home, where she resides with her husband and their two young children.

Given the frequent inquiries regarding her personal favorites on a variety of subjects, Katie resolved to curate an ever-evolving compilation of her most treasured selections. Thus, 'Hi Favorite' came to life.
