“Oh just wait” said the bartender at Boca, the swankiest restaurant Cincinnati, Ohio had to offer back in 2011. She passed me a spoon with a small, imperfectly round cherry ladled with a deep plum colored syrup. I have never recalled having a bad cherry and I certainly thought she was exaggerating. After just a few seconds, I knew she was on to something. This single moment in time changed me forever when I now think of cherries, period. I declared that evening that spoon held a “Top 3 Food” I have ever had the privilege of trying. We are talking right up there with the world’s best bluefin tuna. I mean it’s that good.
Pair these with your next old fashioned or Manhattan. Gift these to anyone for any occasion. You cannot go wrong. In fact, this ingredient is now simply a gold standard in the bar industry and I have yet to find a better tasting cherry. Believe me, I’ve tried.
